Re: XML Intreface for RPG

Sender: Scott Klement <sk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I was able to compile EXAMPLE2 by running the INSTALL program again. I had
to run program MKEXPATCL before running the INSTALL.

The INSTALL program automatically runs MKEXPATCL if you tell it you want to build Expat support... I don't see why you'd run this manually.

My problem now is that when running EXAMPLE2, I get an error stating:

"You do not have permission to create that file"

EXAMPLE2 is trying to create a file in the IFS called '/tmp/testpost.html' (look at the code!) you apparently don't have authority to create that file.

We are new to XML, so it has been difficult to make sense out of the sample programs.

EXAMPLE2 doesn't use XML.

Basically we are looking for an application that can post a request file
into an http server, then another that can get a response from the same http
server.

If anyone on the mailing list could provide sample programs similar to what
we need to do, would be greatly appreciated.

HTTPAPI will do those things, and includes many sample programs.

The only other alternative that I'm aware of is Brad Stone's (commercial) product called GETURI. http://www.bvstools.com
