RE: [SPAM] Re: How to FTP Queries

Thanks,

We have two LPARS; and the developing (sources) is going to be moved to
the TEST LPAR, while keeping the Live Data/Objects on the LIVE LPAR.

Sometimes we have to update Query definitions used on CLs, and I was
wondering on an easy way to move sources/Queries from one to the other.

Hi Ernesto,

Typically if you want to transfer a non-file object, you have to first
save it to a SAVF. (Using the SAVOBJ, SAVLIB, or SAV CL command). Then

you can transfer the SAVF to another computer using FTP (or similar.)
On the destination computer, you'd use RSTOBJ, RSTLIB, or RST to restore

the non-file object.

This is true of all file transfer methods.. it's not limited to FTP or
FTPAPI.

Disclaimer: I don't work with *QRYDFN objects, and I'm not sure if they
have any unusual requirements. I'm assuming they're the same as all of
the other non-file objects.
