Dear Scott (et al):

I've already looked this up in the HTTPAPI/FTPAPI List archives, and 
found the April 2015 thread on the subject.

Am I to correctly understand that if HTTPAPI, compiled with SSL support, 
fails on a box, it's likely because the box doesn't have a *SYSTEM 
keystore set up in DCM?

(I strongly suspect this is the case, because the box in question isn't, 
so far as we're aware, set up for secured Telnet. I've gotten so 
accustomed to *serving* https with Tomcat, which uses JSSE, and doesn't 
care about DCM or system SSL support.)
