Nah - I know.

The infuriating thing was that it wasn't even a small change like adding or renaming an element.  The entire concept had changed from "it always returns a 200" to "it returns 200, or 300, or 400, or even 500" - each with associated and different response formats.

What it also hinted at (and we subsequently verified) was that the underlying design of the Web Service had been changed without telling anybody!
