You can directly print a spool-PDF to a printer that natively supports direct PDF printing (the best thing to do, so you can avoid eventual format translation quirks). I guess you are on an "italian" machine... you should see # actually # in "american" has the same hex value as £ in "italian" (CCSID 37 and CCSID 280 usually involved). So yes, maybe it is the stream file you are logging (or the viewer) to without correct ccsid. try to ...
